On Monday, a big special prayer ceremony called the Varuna Yagam happened in India.

It took place next to the Krishna River at a place called Nagarjuna Sagar.

The ceremony was organised by the Telangana government.

People sang Vedic chants and performed rituals to ask for rain.

The Chief Minister of Telangana, Mr. A Revanth Reddy, and his wife came to the ceremony.

They took part in the last and most important part, called the Purnahuti.

About 108 priests came from different parts of Telangana to help with the rituals.

Ministers and other leaders welcomed the Chief Minister when he arrived by helicopter.

The main hope was that the state would get plenty of rain and that people would be happy and well.
