Digi Yatra Goes Global: India's Airport Tech Eyes International Travelers
Digi Yatra is an app that helps people move through airports in India without showing paper identity documents.
Right now, it only works for flights that stay inside India.
When you enter the airport, the app checks your digital ID so you can pass through quickly.
Until now, you needed an Aadhaar card to use it.
The app has just added driving licences as another way to enter.
The people behind Digi Yatra also want to help Indian travellers flying to other countries.
They plan to use passports as digital credentials for international flights.
They showed this idea at a big meeting called the Global Forum in March.
For it to work overseas, airport systems in different countries must be able to connect.

Digi Yatra is currently available only for domestic air travel in India and is working on opening up to international travellers.
Indian nationals travelling internationally will be able to use Digi Yatra through passport-based verifiable credentials, demonstrated in March at the Global Forum.
Digi Yatra has launched a driving licence-based credential, expanding entry beyond the existing Aadhaar-based credential.
The driving licence option is an extension of Digi Yatra's integration with DigiLocker for digitally available ID documents.
