Bank of Baroda Launches Global UPI Payments for Foreign Visitors
US, UAE, Singapore tourists can now pay Indian shops using their home payment apps: How it works · livemint.com

Bank of Baroda has started a new way for visitors to pay in India.

Tourists can use payment apps from their own countries.

They scan a Bank of Baroda UPI QR code at a participating shop.

The payment is then made through their familiar home-country app.

They do not need an Indian bank account or a separate Indian payment app.

This may also reduce the need to carry cash or exchange money.

The service is available to visitors from certain countries connected to NPCI International’s payment network.

Indian shopkeepers may gain more customers from abroad.

Bank of Baroda said the system helps make digital payments work across borders.
