Railway Board's Station Mahotsav to celebrate five historic Mumbai stations

Did you know that train stations can have birthdays?

Just like people, some train stations in India are very, very old, and they celebrate the day they were first built.

The Railway Board wants to celebrate the birthdays of 103 very old train stations across India.

It has started a special festival called 'Station Mahotsav.'

In Mumbai, five very old stations will have their own birthday parties.

Kalyan, built in 1854, is the oldest of the five and celebrates on October 9.

Karjat and Khandala are both from 1863, and they celebrate their birthdays in October.

Khopoli, from 1856, celebrates on November 18, and Bandra, from 1864, celebrates in November.

These stations are more than 150 years old and helped connect Mumbai with other parts of India.

The celebrations help people remember and learn about the history of trains and the places they pass through.
