Quad Nations Align on Free, Open Indo-Pacific, Says US Envoy
Four big countries—India, the United States, Japan, and Australia—are friends who work together.
They call their group the Quad.
America's top diplomat in India, Sergio Gor, said all four countries want the same thing: a peaceful and open part of the world called the Indo-Pacific.
The Indo-Pacific is a huge area of ocean and land where many ships travel and do business.
In July, the foreign ministers of these four countries met in a city called Manila.
They agreed to help each other keep the seas safe, respond to emergencies, and work on new technology.
They also want to make sure important goods can keep being made and traded even during problems.
Just days before Gor's message, the US Vice President talked with India's Prime Minister to strengthen their friendship.
India matters a lot to this group because it sits right in the middle of the region.

Quad foreign ministers met in Manila on July 22 and reaffirmed their commitment to a free and open Indo-Pacific.
The four countries agreed to advance cooperation in maritime and transnational security, economic prosperity and security, critical and emerging technologies, and humanitarian assistance and emergency response.
Gor's remarks came days after US Vice President JD Vance spoke with Prime Minister Narendra Modi on strengthening the India-US strategic partnership.
India's role is seen as significant because of its geographic position in the Indian Ocean and its expanding strategic partnerships across the Indo-Pacific.
