US ambassador calls India partnership vital for global security

The American ambassador to India, Sergio Gor, met with India's National Security Advisor, Ajit Doval.

They talked about how the United States and India can work together better.

Gor said the meeting went well and that the partnership is very important for global security.

The day before, Gor had also met with India's Foreign Secretary, Vikram Misri.

These meetings came after the US Vice President, JD Vance, called India's Prime Minister, Narendra Modi.

They discussed trade, defence and energy security.

The talks happened while tensions in West Asia are rising and after a defence pact between Turkiye, Saudi Arabia and Pakistan.

India and the US had some disagreements recently, including over tariffs and visa fees.

Now both countries are trying to repair their relationship and finalise a trade deal.
