Gujarat to honour 93 farmers with Best ATMA awards
Gujarat is giving awards to 93 farmers for doing excellent work.
The farmers work in areas such as natural farming, growing fruits and vegetables, caring for animals and making improved farm products.
The award ceremony will take place in Gandhinagar on October 3.
Ten awards will be given for work across the state, while 83 will be given at the district level.
About 100 places where people can buy natural-farming products will also open.
These centres are meant to help farmers sell directly to markets and consumers.
The agriculture department will work with ISRO’s Space Applications Centre to use space technology for farming advice.
Fourteen newly appointed agriculture officers will also receive their appointment letters.
