India celebrated its 80th Independence Day, and in the city of Lucknow the celebration was a big, colourful event.

The Chief Minister of the state, Yogi Adityanath, raised the Indian flag called the Tricolour and wished everyone a happy Independence Day.

Students sang the national song 'Vande Mataram' to start the morning.

Many dancers and musicians from different parts of India came to perform, showing how diverse the country is.

There were folk songs about Ganpati Bappa and Chhathi Maiya, plus traditional dances from many states.

A play about Lord Ram, Goddess Sita and Lakshman was presented.

Beautiful flower petals fell from the sky like rain, and Tricolour balloons were released into the air.

Everyone cheered loudly with pride, including many children holding the National Flag.

It was a day of joy, culture and love for the country.
