Milma Reports Higher Milk, Curd and Ghee Sales During Onam

Milma is a dairy company that sells milk and other products in Kerala.

Its sales were higher during this year’s Onam season.

Between August 20 and 25, it sold more than 14.5 million litres of milk.

Milk sales were 5.61% higher than during the same period last year.

Curd sales also increased by 9.68%.

The Thiruvananthapuram, Ernakulam and Malabar unions all reported higher milk sales.

The unions also sold large quantities of ghee before Onam.

Milma said careful planning and supply management helped meet the festival demand.

Milk sales: 1,45,76,846.63 litres from August 20 to 25, up 5.61% year on year.
Curd sales: 18,09,331.50 kg, up 9.68% from the corresponding period last year.
Thiruvananthapuram union: Milk sales rose 5.86% and curd sales rose 7.94%.
Ernakulam union: Milk sales rose 4.62% and curd sales rose 16.44%.
Malabar union: Milk sales rose 6.03% and curd sales rose 8.7%.
Ghee sales: The Thiruvananthapuram, Ernakulam and Malabar unions sold 297.85 tonnes, 172.58 tonnes and 358.35 tonnes, respectively, between August 1 and 25.
Reason cited: Advance preparations and extensive supply-chain management ahead of the Onam rush.
