Deputy EC Gyanesh Bharti Appointed A&N Islands Chief Secretary

A very important government worker named Gyanesh Bharti got a new job.

He used to help make sure elections in India are fair as a Deputy Election Commissioner.

Now the government has moved him to a new role.

He will be the Chief Secretary of the Andaman and Nicobar Islands.

Those are a group of islands that belong to India.

In his new job, he will help run the government's work there.

The decision was made on a Monday, and he had only been in his election job for less than one year.

The government also said he must have a special "cooling off" waiting period after the move.

Before this, he had other big jobs, like leading the city government of Delhi and working in a ministry that helps women and children.
