Delhi saw more mosquito-borne illnesses in August than in any other month this year.

It said the total number of dengue cases was 311 by August 29.

Malaria reached 119 cases, and chikungunya reached 22 cases.

Thirty-nine dengue cases were reported in the week before the latest MCD report.

No one had died from any of these three diseases.

The Delhi government gave a much higher dengue figure of 2,200 cases through August 25.

Officials have not explained why the two counts are so different.

MCD workers checked homes, found mosquito breeding and fumigated many houses to control the illnesses.
