Delhi Reclaims 100 Acres After Removing Legacy Landfill Waste
Delhi has been cleaning up very old piles of rubbish at three large landfills.
The government says 2.16 crore metric tonnes of waste have been processed.
This work has opened up more than 100 acres of land.
Okhla has recovered 35 acres.
Bhalswa has recovered 45 acres.
Ghazipur has recovered 20 acres.
The city plans to finish clearing Okhla and Bhalswa by December this year.
Ghazipur is expected to be cleared by December next year.

Bhalswa has processed about 102 lakh metric tonnes and reclaimed 45 acres.
Ghazipur has processed about 44 lakh metric tonnes, with 20 acres reclaimed; clearance targets extend through December next year.
