Assam floods leave 1.68 lakh affected across 15 districts
In a place called Assam in India, flood water has covered many areas and is causing serious problems.
The flood is affecting about 1,68,701 people, which is a very large number.
These people live in 481 villages spread across 15 districts.
Sadly, two people have died because of the floods.
A lot of farmland is underwater, so crops like rice have been destroyed.
Many animals have also been affected by the flood.
The government has opened 133 relief camps where people can stay and get food.
Right now, about 10,111 people are staying in these camps.
Rescue teams with 151 boats are helping people who are stuck.
The Dhansiri (South) river is still above the danger level, so people are being very careful.
Flooding continues to affect 1,68,701 people across 481 villages in 39 revenue circles spread over 15 districts of Assam.
According to ASDMA, the Dhansiri (South) river at Numaligarh is the only river still flowing above the danger level.
Two deaths have been reported, one each in Golaghat and Udalguri districts, with no person reported missing.
Golaghat (54,085) and Sivasagar (49,515) are the worst-hit districts, and 14,382.26 hectares of crop area remain submerged.
Authorities have kept 133 relief camps and distribution centres operational, where 10,111 people are sheltered, with 93 rescue teams and 151 boats deployed.
