A video spread on the internet showing a man smoking a cigarette while sitting on steps near a holy walkway called Srivari Mettu in Tirumala.

People who visit the temple saw the video and felt upset.

Some devotees who were there told the man that smoking was not allowed in that area.

But the man did not listen and kept smoking anyway.

He smoked the whole cigarette before walking away.

The temple area is considered sacred, so many people thought smoking there was very wrong.

Devotees asked the people in charge to take strong action against the man.

They also asked why the temple staff did not stop him.
