Mahindra targets 10-12% HCV market share by FY31
Mahindra makes big heavy trucks in India, and it wants more people to buy them.
Today, only about 3 out of every 100 truck buyers choose Mahindra, but the company hopes that by the year 2031 it will be 10 to 12 out of 100.
To make its trucks special, Mahindra put a tiny computer brain, called an AI chip, inside its new Blazo-I truck.
The chip can feel how heavy the load is and whether the road goes uphill or downhill.
That helps the truck pick the best way to drive all by itself.
This smart driving helps the truck use less fuel, which is the special liquid that makes trucks go.
Mahindra says its new truck can use up to 10 percent less fuel than other trucks, saving owners lots of money.
The company also promises to fix any broken truck within 48 hours, or pay the owner 10,000 rupees for each extra day.
Mahindra's leader for trucks, Vinod Sahay, says customers are ready to switch brands when a truck helps them earn more.
Mahindra Truck and Bus Division aims to raise its heavy commercial vehicle market share to 10-12% by FY31.
MTBD currently holds around 3-3.5% of the HCV market, with the two leading players accounting for nearly 80-85%.
The newly launched Blazo-I truck features a 10-nanometre on-board edge AI chip that detects load and gradient to select driving modes automatically.
Mahindra promises up to 10% better fuel efficiency than the market benchmark, potentially saving customers up to ₹15 lakh.
The company offers a 48-hour breakdown guarantee, paying ₹10,000 per day if a truck is not back on the road within that period.
