Operation Toofan Arrests More Than 13,000 in Keralam
Keralam Police are running a campaign called Operation Toofan to tackle drugs.
Officials said 13,002 people have been arrested so far.
Police have also registered 12,050 cases.
On Monday, 39 people were arrested in 37 cases.
Police said they have seized large amounts of MDMA and ganja during the campaign.
The drive also includes classes and counselling to teach people about drugs.
Schools and colleges have held additional awareness programmes.
People can share information about drug trafficking with the police, and officials say informants’ identities will be kept secret.
Keralam Police said 13,002 people have been arrested and 12,050 cases registered under Operation Toofan so far.
On Monday, police arrested 39 people in 37 cases.
Police said seizures during the operation total 26,057.374 grams of MDMA and 1,634.780 kilograms of ganja.
On Monday, police seized 153.379 grams of MDMA and 5.346 kilograms of ganja.
The campaign has included 10,852 awareness classes, 877 counselling sessions and 7,718 programmes by school and college protection groups.
