Operation Toofan Arrests 12,111 in Kerala Anti-Drug Drive

Kerala Police is running an anti-drug campaign called Operation Toofan.

Police said 12,111 people have been arrested during the campaign.

They have registered 11,241 cases.

Officers have seized drugs including MDMA, ganja, heroin and brown sugar.

On Saturday, 198 people were arrested in 188 cases.

Police also held 27 awareness classes that day.

In total, 10,004 awareness classes and 804 counselling sessions have taken place.

School and college groups have held thousands of additional awareness programmes.
