Police in Jashpur, Chhattisgarh, arrested two men allegedly carrying a large amount of ganja.

The seized ganja weighed 440.63 kilograms.

Police said it was worth about Rs 2.20 crore.

The men were travelling in a mini-truck from Odisha toward Uttar Pradesh.

They allegedly hid the ganja under sacks of chillies.

The arrest happened at the Lavakera checkpost near the Odisha border.

The two men said the ganja came from the Baudh region of Odisha and was going to Prayagraj.

Police are checking whether other people were involved.

The case has been registered under India’s Narcotic Drugs and Psychotropic Substances Act.
