Western Railway Mandates Uniforms, Gloves, Hair Nets For Caterers
Western Railway is introducing new clothing and hygiene rules for food sellers at Mumbai division stations.
From September 10, 2026, catering workers must wear a specific red-and-black uniform.
They must also use disposable gloves and hair nets while working.
The uniform must be clean, ironed and kept in good condition.
Railway officials made the decision after a food stall at Boisar was found wrapping samosas in newspaper.
Inspectors will check whether workers follow the rules.

People who do not follow the rules may face punishment.
