Tamil Nadu Plans Special Buses for Temple Festivals
Tamil Nadu is adding buses for people travelling to important temple festivals.
The transport department will run 385 buses to Madurai for the consecration of the Meenakshi Amman Temple.
Another 150 buses will travel to Tirupati each day from September 17 to 30 for Brahmotsavam.
On Tuesday, 2,716 buses came to Chennai from other places.
More than 2 lakh passengers used 6,212 bus services during the Vinayaka Chathurthi and weekend holidays.
The minister checked arrangements at the Kilambakkam and Koyambedu bus terminals.
He asked officials to provide enough local buses so passengers could reach their destinations easily.
More special services are also being planned for the Pooja holidays and Deepavali.
