The southern part of India is going to have a lot of rainy weather over the next few days.

The India Meteorological Department, the scientists who study the weather, says it will keep raining until August 13.

Kerala and the islands of Lakshadweep are expected to get the most rain.

Some places in Kerala might get really heavy rain of about 7 to 11 centimeters.

The coastal areas of Karnataka will also be very wet, along with strong winds.

Tamil Nadu and Puducherry will get lighter rain, but thunder and lightning are possible.

The winds near the coasts of Kerala and Karnataka could be very strong, sometimes blowing at 60 kilometers per hour.

Because of these strong winds, fishermen are being told not to go out on the sea for now.

So people living in South India should keep their umbrellas and raincoats handy!
