BJP Ally JDU Red Flags Farakka Water Treaty with Bangladesh

India and Bangladesh are two neighboring countries.

They made a deal about sharing water from a big river called the Ganga.

This deal is called the Farakka Water Treaty.

It is going to end on December 12 this year.

A politician named Sanjay Kumar Jha works in India's parliament.

He belongs to a political group called JDU.

He thinks India should check carefully how much water is needed before agreeing to the deal again.

He especially wants to make sure people in a state called Bihar have enough water.

He talked about this in the Rajya Sabha, which is one part of India's parliament.

He said this is a matter of national interest.
