Abandoned Spanish palaces face collapse as rural populations shrink
Part of a centuries-old palace in Almazán collapsed twice in September.
The damage reflects a wider problem: hundreds of historic Spanish buildings are at risk of ruin.
Experts say depopulation, abandonment and lack of money make it hard to maintain them.
Losing these buildings would mean losing part of Spain’s history.
