Nearly 2.8 tonnes of cocaine and four rifles seized in rural house in Guadalajara

Spain’s Civil Guard says it found about 2,775 kilograms of cocaine and four Kalashnikov assault rifles in a rural house in Guadalajara province.

Eight men were arrested on suspicion of belonging to a criminal group that distributed cocaine in Spain and other European countries.

Investigators say the house was used to store drugs, while a nearby warehouse was used to prepare vehicles with hidden compartments for transport.

The investigation also uncovered cocaine hidden in a car and a truck.

Officers seized three vehicles, mobile phones and €28,000 in cash, as well as the rifles and drugs.

The group was described as an early link in the supply chain serving customers across Spain and Europe.

Seven of the eight men have been jailed after appearing before a judge.
