Rinderknech to fall outside top 60 after missing Shanghai Masters
Arthur Rinderknech will miss the 2026 Shanghai Masters after tearing an abdominal muscle during a doubles match in Beijing.
The French player reached the Shanghai final last year and rose to a career-high ranking of 24.
He entered this year’s tournament ranked 33rd, but his absence means he is now 63rd in the live rankings.
His cousin, Valentin Vacherot, won last year’s title and is back in Shanghai as defending champion.
Vacherot beat Sebastian Baez in his opening match, but the points from last year’s win have already come off his ranking.
He can climb back into the top 30 by reaching the quarter-finals and remain in the top 15 if he wins the title.
His next match is against 15th seed Tommy Paul on Monday, October 12.
