Russian airstrikes kill at least 17 in Ukraine’s Zaporizhzhia
Guided Russian bombs struck residential buildings in Zaporizhzhia, a city in southeastern Ukraine, on Saturday, October 10.
Ukrainian officials said at least 17 people were killed, including three children, and at least 18 were injured.
Rescue workers searched damaged apartments and helped survivors, while the buildings and nearby cars were badly damaged.
The strike was part of a wider wave of attacks across Ukraine; Ukrainian officials said more than 60 people had been killed in four days.
Missiles also hit Kyiv, injuring four people, and attacks damaged homes, infrastructure and railway facilities in other regions.
The strikes came after US President Donald Trump announced a deal to buy diesel from Russia, which Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelenskyy said could ease pressure on Moscow and help it continue the war.
