Police investigate 10 deaths in São Paulo, rule out serial-killer theory for now

Police have found 10 bodies in São Paulo over 37 days, including cases in the city’s east and other areas.

The victims showed signs of violence, and some were found tied and wrapped in bags or blankets.

Police say there is no evidence of a serial killer and that the cases do not show a typical pattern of one.

Investigators are examining whether some deaths could be linked to the so-called “crime tribunal,” a system of punishment outside the law associated with the PCC, a criminal group.

Some victims had criminal histories, but police have not confirmed a connection between the deaths.

Investigators are working to identify victims, find suspects and establish possible motives, while keeping cases under separate investigations.
