Association urges stronger search for seven kidnapped farmers in Guerrero

Seven farmers from El Balcón remain missing after they were taken on September 24 in Ajuchitlán del Progreso, in Mexico’s Guerrero state.

The National Association of Chapingo Graduates’ Guerrero branch said the federal government should intensify the search in the field.

It called for action by the Interior Ministry, the Army, the National Guard and the National Search Commission.

The farmers are from a community known for sustainable forest management.

The association said the danger facing communities that protect natural resources was unacceptable.

The farmers’ families are waiting for their return, and the association wants authorities to strengthen efforts to find them.
