Pertamina Adjusts Fuel Supplies After Pertalite Queues in Bondowoso

Queues formed at some fuel stations in Bondowoso, a district in East Java, as demand for Pertalite increased.

Pertamina Patra Niaga said consumption was about 16% to 20% above normal.

The company linked the rise to increased public activity and some consumers switching from non-subsidised fuel to subsidised Pertalite.

Deliveries have also faced delays from heavy traffic on the Ketapang-Banyuwangi route, where a ferry dock is being repaired.

Pertamina is prioritising stations with higher demand, arranging alternative supplies and preparing more tanker trucks.

It is also coordinating with fuel terminals in Tanjungwangi and Surabaya and monitoring sales, including repeat purchases suspected of being intended for resale at higher prices.

The company says it will continue to monitor demand and asks people to buy only what they need.
