Investigation says Leire Díez’s circle also sought to pressure a second Badajoz judge
Investigators say people linked to Leire Díez sought to put a second judge in Badajoz, Marta Hernández, under pressure.
Until now, attention had focused on judge Beatriz Biedma, who was investigating Pedro Sánchez’s brother.
The investigation concerns an alleged effort to obstruct corruption cases involving Spain’s Socialist Party and government.
According to Civil Guard findings, a witness said Hernández’s home address was given at a meeting where people discussed filing complaints against her court and holding street protests.
The investigators say former judge Luis José Sáenz de Tejada was involved and that early efforts focused on Hernández before shifting to Biedma.
A lawyer who attended the meeting said no physical attack was discussed, but that complaints and protests were raised.
Documents in the case also cite videos in which Sáenz de Tejada criticized Hernández.

The reported plans against Hernández included legal or administrative action against her court and street demonstrations.
