Alfa-Bank buys 4.85% stake in Russian clinic group Medsi

Alfa-Bank bought a 4.85% stake in Medsi, a major private clinic group in Russia.

It purchased the shares from AFK Sistema, which still owns 90.64% and remains in control.

The two parties did not disclose the price, though estimates in the story vary.

The investment is part of a pre-IPO round intended to bring in major investors and help establish Medsi’s value before a public listing.

Medsi has discussed an IPO for years, and its owner has said a listing could happen in autumn 2026 if conditions are favorable, or in spring 2027.

The timing will depend on market conditions as well as Medsi’s financial and operating performance.

Sistema says other institutional investors and funds remain interested in investing.
