Russia says diesel exports could return to pre-crisis levels by year-end
Russia says it could raise diesel exports to 3 million to 3.5 million metric tonnes a month by the end of the year.
Deputy Prime Minister Alexander Novak said the volume would bring exports close to levels before the crisis.
Ukrainian drone attacks on Russian oil refineries in 2024 and 2025, along with Russia’s own limits on overseas sales, cut exports.
US President Donald Trump said Russia had agreed to supply diesel to global markets, and the US temporarily lifted sanctions on Russian fuel.
Trump announced an initial supply of more than 300,000 tonnes, followed by 500,000 tonnes in November and another 1 million tonnes afterward.
Novak said the added supply was already helping balance global markets and that diesel prices had fallen about 5% to 6%.
Russia’s exports could grow further by year-end, but Novak said the situation would continue to develop.

Novak said that level would return exports to those seen before the crisis and could exceed volumes announced by US President Donald Trump.
Trump said on Oct. 9 that Russia would supply more than 300,000 metric tonnes immediately, followed by 500,000 tonnes in November and 1 million tonnes thereafter.
Novak said additional Russian supplies had helped push global diesel prices down by about 5% to 6%.
