Solanke scores as 10-man Tottenham earn a draw at Manchester United

Tottenham drew with Manchester United at Old Trafford after coming from behind while playing with 10 men.

Dominic Solanke scored Tottenham’s equaliser, his first Premier League goal since March.

The striker had missed two good chances before scoring, but kept competing and headed in a cross from Sandro Tonali.

Tottenham manager Roberto De Zerbi had made Solanke captain, despite him not being part of the club’s five-person captaincy group.

Solanke has faced criticism during Tottenham’s slow start, and he had struggled to score since returning from an ankle injury.

The draw gave Tottenham a sign of progress, although they have taken only three points from their first six games.

De Zerbi said the team had played together for the first time, and he hopes the performance can help turn around their season.
