Survey respondents see high fuel prices boosting interest in EVs and hybrids

A survey asked readers what, if anything, could be a positive side of record fuel prices after the war in Iran began.

Nearly 2,000 people responded.

More than 60% chose greater mainstream interest in hybrid and electric vehicles.

Another 12% chose fewer lifted four-wheel-drive vehicles, which the survey writer said could also reflect a shift toward more efficient driving.

Some respondents also pointed to the pressure high fuel prices put on household costs, including groceries.

The survey reflects readers’ views, not a measured change in vehicle sales or driving habits.

The survey writer invited readers to review the results and share their views.
