PDP candidate omitted from Ogun State’s 2027 election list
Nigeria’s electoral commission has published a list of candidates for the 6 February 2027 governorship election in Ogun State.
The list includes candidates from 13 parties but leaves out Oladipupo Adebutu, the candidate of the Peoples Democratic Party, or PDP.
The commission has not explained why his name is missing.
Ogun State’s PDP says Adebutu remained a party member and that his registration details were submitted on time.
The party blames the state’s ruling All Progressives Congress for putting pressure on the commission, but this is the PDP’s claim.
The omission matters because Adebutu is not currently on the official list of candidates for the election.
The PDP says it expects his name to be published, but the commission has not said whether it will add him.

The commission cleared candidates from 13 parties and their running mates.
INEC did not explain Adebutu’s exclusion, according to Premium Times.
The Ogun State PDP blamed the ruling APC and alleged it pressured INEC because it feared losing the election.
The PDP said Adebutu remained a party member and was registered within the designated period.

INEC Secretary Rose Oriaran-Anthony released the final list of candidates in Abuja.
The Ogun State PDP issued a statement reacting to Adebutu’s omission.
