China introduces new timetable for freight trains
China’s national railway operator is introducing a new freight train timetable from 6 p.m.
on October 10.
It adds services linking cities, including trains for time-sensitive goods such as online orders, parcels and essential supplies.
The plan also includes more multi-route transport services and direct trains for bulk goods such as coal, grain and fertilizer.
These essential goods will receive priority rail capacity.
The timetable sets routes for trains between China, Europe and Central Asia, including new return routes from Europe and new services linking China with Central Asian countries.
The changes are intended to speed up freight movement within China and support trade with nearby countries.
