Several NBA players miss or leave preseason games with injuries

Several NBA players are dealing with injuries during preseason.

Three Mavericks—Santi Aldama, Dereck Lively II and Marcus Sasser—remain sidelined in Macao, with knee and foot recovery and adductor soreness keeping them out.

Lively is recovering from surgery, and coach Dusty May said he is moving well but must follow a return-to-play process.

New Orleans guard Dejounte Murray missed practice after a toe injury, and coach Jamahl Mosley said the team will keep checking how he responds to treatment.

Indiana star Tyrese Haliburton, back after missing nearly 16 months with a torn Achilles tendon, had a mild right ankle tweak; an MRI showed no serious issue, but he missed a game and took part in limited practice.

San Antonio’s Carter Bryant rolled his ankle during a game and did not return, though the injury was not expected to be serious.

The teams will continue to monitor the players, but the updates do not give firm return dates.
