Michael Jordan’s 1998 NBA Finals jersey sells privately for $14 million

A red Michael Jordan jersey worn in the 1998 NBA Finals has sold for $14 million in a private sale.

Hunt Auctions arranged the sale and said the buyer was Miami real estate investor Ron Firman.

Jordan wore the jersey in Game 2, when the Chicago Bulls beat the Utah Jazz to tie the series.

The Bulls won the championship in six games, giving Jordan the sixth and final title of his career.

That season later became the subject of the 2020 documentary series “The Last Dance.”

The sale is the highest price paid for basketball memorabilia, according to Hunt Auctions, and the second-highest known price for a game-worn sports jersey.

Other Jordan jerseys from that Finals have also sold for more than $10 million, reflecting strong collector interest in items from his final championship season with the Bulls.
