Two planes declare fuel emergencies near Nizhny Novgorod

Two Airbus A320s declared fuel emergencies about five minutes apart while flying near Nizhny Novgorod.

One plane, operated by S7 Airlines, was flying from Mineralnye Vody to Moscow’s Domodedovo airport.

The other, operated by Kyrgyzstan’s Avia Traffic Company, was flying from Bishkek to Moscow.

Both crews reported critically low fuel during their flights.

The S7 plane gave its alert shortly before starting its descent, and the second aircraft reported the same problem a few minutes later.

Both planes landed safely at Domodedovo in Moscow.

The account gives no further details about why the aircraft had low fuel or what steps may follow.
