Three performers stand out at the 2026 fall film festivals

The fall film festivals in Venice, Telluride, Toronto and New York often introduce performers to wider audiences.

This year, Mathilde Arcel won Venice’s Volpi Cup for Best Actress for her role in “Woman Unknown.”

The film also won Venice’s Golden Lion for Best Film.

Arcel plays a nanny in postwar Copenhagen who is hiding a personal secret.

Rosalind Eleazar, known for “Slow Horses,” drew praise for playing a washed-up actress in Chris Rock’s Hollywood satire “Misty Green.”

Skyler Gisondo was also singled out for his role in “Primetime,” a film based on the early-2000s series “To Catch a Predator.”

The festival performances have raised interest in seeing more work from these actors.
