iOS 27 lets users create Shortcuts by describing what they want

iOS 27 lets users create Shortcuts by describing what they want

Apple’s Shortcuts app can link actions together to automate tasks on iPhones and other Apple devices.

In iOS 27, a feature called “Describe a Shortcut” lets users explain what they want in plain language, and Siri AI builds the routine.

One example identifies a song with Shazam, then saves its name and artist to an Obsidian page with a YouTube link and space for notes.

The setup addresses a limitation of Shazam: it identifies songs, but offers little way to record the circumstances or revisit tracks without Apple Music or Spotify.

The new feature could make Shortcuts easier to use for people who do not know how to build automations manually.

It requires a compatible Apple device, the relevant version of its operating system, and enrollment in the Siri AI beta, which has a waitlist.
