Erdoğan says Türkiye must shield young people from tech leaders’ influence

President Recep Tayyip Erdoğan spoke in Istanbul at the 75th anniversary gathering of the Ilim Yayma Cemiyeti, a Turkish education and civil society organization founded in 1951.

He warned that powerful technology leaders could shape young people’s lives and values to serve their own interests.

Erdoğan said Türkiye should raise young people who can use and develop technology while keeping a sense of moral responsibility and connection to national and spiritual values.

He pointed to artificial intelligence and rapid technological change as forces reshaping society.

He also cited troubling incidents in schools and urged protection from ideologies that promote racial hatred and excessive self-indulgence.

Erdoğan praised Ilim Yayma for its role in education and in reopening and expanding imam hatip schools, which combine religious and general education.

He called on students and educators to prepare young people to meet the challenges of technological change and global cultural pressures.
