Mexico City deploys 1,601 police for América-Monterrey match

América and Monterrey are scheduled to play at 9 p.m.

on Saturday, October 10, at Estadio Banorte in the Santa Úrsula Coapa area of Coyoacán, Mexico City.

The match is part of round 11 of the 2026 Liga MX Apertura tournament.

The city’s Citizen Security Secretariat is deploying 1,601 police officers to protect fans and help traffic move around the stadium.

Officers will monitor stadium entrances and nearby areas, check for prohibited items and work to prevent ticket resale.

Authorities recommended routes including Boulevard Gran Sur, Anillo Periférico, Viaducto Tlalpan, and Santa Úrsula and Santo Tomás avenues.

No specific street closures were announced, but officials warned of possible traffic problems and encouraged fans to use public transport.

The operation will continue until the match ends and all fans have left the stadium.
