Two films had strong results in limited US theatrical releases over the weekend.

‘Fjord,’ a drama directed by Cristian Mungiu, earned an estimated $124,000 on four screens in New York and Los Angeles.

It follows a Romanian-Norwegian couple who move to a remote village, where questions arise about how they are raising their children.

The film won the Palme d’Or at Cannes and is Romania’s entry for the Best International Feature Oscar.

‘Naza,’ a documentary by Yuval Abraham and Rachel Szor, expanded in its second week from New York to 85 theaters in more than 30 markets.

Its estimated total earnings reached $504,074, including estimates for the four-day US holiday weekend.

The film features interviews with Israeli soldiers and intelligence officers about civilian deaths in Gaza, and is set to continue its US rollout through October.
