Bradesco Asset wins global award for AI tool that reads central bank statements
Bradesco Asset, an investment manager in Brazil, developed an AI tool called the Hawk-Dove indicator.
It reads statements from Brazil’s central bank and the US Federal Reserve and estimates whether their tone is hawkish or dovish.
In financial markets, hawkish language signals a tougher stance on inflation and support for higher interest rates, while dovish language points to a softer stance.
The tool aims to make this interpretation faster and more consistent, rather than relying only on analysts’ judgments.
Its results are available through Bloomberg and can inform investment strategies and decisions about where to allocate money.
The indicator was one of two Bradesco Asset AI applications recognized with a Global Finance award for AI innovation.
The company says it began a dedicated innovation effort in 2022 and is investing in its own data and AI tools to strengthen its investment management.
Bradesco Asset developed an internal AI indicator that classifies statements from Brazil’s central bank and the US Federal Reserve by how hawkish or dovish their tone is.
