Phasmophobia passes 30 million sales as Halloween event returns

Phasmophobia, a ghost-hunting game made by Kinetic Games, has sold more than 30 million copies on PC and consoles since entering Early Access in 2020.

Its annual Crimson Eye Halloween event is now live and runs until 1 November.

During the event, blood moon conditions appear on selected maps, making ghosts faster and draining players’ sanity more quickly, while increasing rewards.

Players can earn event items through community and personal goals, and the game will offer double XP and rewards from 15 to 22 October.

Ghost Hunts 4 Hearts returns from 26 October to 1 November to support the American Heart Association; the community raised more than $100,000 for the charity last year.

The game’s full 1.0 release is planned for the second half of 2027, after being delayed from 2026.

Kinetic Games says it will share previews of the release’s development next year, including major changes to ghosts and gameplay.
