Industrial and warehouse leasing in India reaches record 59.1 million sq ft
Companies leased a record 59.1 million square feet of industrial and warehouse space across 24 Indian cities from January to September.
That was 7% more than in the same period a year earlier.
Demand came from light manufacturing, third-party logistics and e-commerce companies.
The eight largest cities accounted for 47.2 million square feet, while smaller tier-II and tier-III cities accounted for 11.9 million.
New space supplied during the period also increased, rising 25% to 68.9 million square feet.
The figures point to growing demand beyond the biggest urban centres as companies expand or reorganize their supply chains.
Savills expects growth to continue in 2026, supported by manufacturing and demand from logistics, retail and consumer-goods businesses.
