DMart Q2 profit rises 8.5% as revenue grows 17.8%
Avenue Supermarts, the company behind the DMart supermarket chain in India, reported results for the July–September quarter of FY27.
Its consolidated revenue rose 17.8% from a year earlier to ₹19,644 crore, while net profit increased 8.5% to about ₹743 crore.
Profit grew more slowly than sales, and the company’s profit margin fell to 3.8% from 4.1%.
DMart said higher entry-level wages added to operating expenses, while it continued to focus on keeping prices low for customers.
The retailer opened 15 stores during the quarter, taking its total to 518.
Sales at stores that had been open for at least two years grew 9.5%, compared with 6.8% a year earlier.
DMart Ready, its online grocery business, operated in 11 cities in the first half of FY27, down from 19 a year earlier, and reported a quarterly net loss of ₹75.35 crore.
Trading in the company’s shares was due to resume on Monday after markets were closed on Saturday, when investors could react to the results.
