China securities regulator consults market experts on stability and growth

China Securities Regulatory Commission chairman Wu Qing met representatives of listed companies and experts from securities and fund firms in Beijing on October 10.

They discussed China’s economic and financial conditions and the state of its capital markets.

Participants said the market was generally stable and expressed confidence in its development, while noting that risks and challenges remain.

They proposed expanding long-term investment, strengthening market-stability measures and improving protections and returns for investors.

Other suggestions included refining rules for companies seeking to list and strengthening trading oversight and monitoring of cross-border risks.

Wu said companies and financial institutions should continue offering advice and work together to develop the capital market and serve investors.
