French lawmakers amend 2027 budget revenue plans in committee

The committee changed several parts of the government’s plan for raising money in 2027.

It voted to raise the Livret A savings limit from €22,950 to €30,000 and rejected a proposed cut to a tax allowance for retirees.

It also backed some higher taxes on wealthy people and companies.

These votes are not final: lawmakers will debate the government’s original plan in the Assembly.
